FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1How long does clear aligner’s treatment take?
Clear aligners can take 4-8 months. The length of time depends on the amount of movement needed and the patient's compliance with the retainer. In some cases, the teeth do not move exactly as expected and a refinement might be done.
2IPR - How to Perform
IPR stands for interproximal reduction. It is the process of creating very small amounts of space between pairs of teeth in order to allow the teeth to move as needed during treatment. IPR is used to create space between teeth by reducing the proximal surfaces of the teeth, when needed or called for in the treatment plan, during clear aligner treatment. IPR can also be used to break tight contacts. Before you do anything check your Treatment Plan.
3IPR - Over-cutting or under-cutting
If the cut is too shallow, you can use IPR gauges to measure. If the cut is too deep, we will work to close the gap after the treatment.
4When will aligners fail?
It is worth considering that aligners are not omnipotent, so in some situations, it is still better to resort to braces. Aligners will not help if you have a bad bite, or if your teeth are overcrowded and misaligned.
5How can I see the virtual setup?
We will send the virtual setup link that you can easily view on your computer or mobile phone.
6What if the aligner doesn't fit?
Check the previous aligner - if not, please take a new impression or scan, and send it to us.
7What should be done if the patient loses their aligners?
Please inform us if the patient loses their aligners and provide the number of the last aligner they used.
